Cut time to treatment!
Aspect Reporter delivers test results immediately from lab to clinic extending the reach of laboratory diagnostic testing to the point of care. Many health systems use a centralized laboratory approach, allowing highly technical lab work, with state-of-the-art equipment and specialist technicians, to be concentrated in a few places. Hospitals and rural clinics send patient samples to these central labs, where they are tested using large analyzers and specially trained staff.
However, before a sample can be turned into an actionable diagnostic result, it must go through a difficult journey from a clinic to a central lab. After the sample arrives at the central lab, the test result must make the return journey back to the clinic, often on paper carried by hand. The time-to-result round trip may take weeks or months – so long that the result may no longer be relevant.
Aspect Reporter addresses this return journey, moving test results from the lab to the clinic immediately. At the clinic, staff receive and acknowledge receipt of the result. And if a retest is required due to lost or damaged sample, the clinic is notified and can take action immediately.
Aspect reporter Integrates with your cliniCAL Environment and workflow:
- A small server receives test results from the lab over cellular networks. Designed for robustness, the server can operate on AC power or on battery with solar power where local infrastructure is unavailable.
- A 10" tablet, only compatible with Aspect Reporter, displays the results. Clinic staff use its simple interface to review and acknowledge test results as they arrive from the lab. Aspect Reporter can support multiple, simultaneous users with additional tablets, each recharged by the server module when not in use.
Each staff member at a clinic can have their own login to the system, and Aspect Reporter protects patient privacy; on-board security ensures only authorized people see test results.
Built on Aspect, the SystemOne network for diagnostic data, Aspect Reporter is fast, secure, robust, and simple.
Aspect Reporter can be configured with the battery and power modules in a locked cabinet or with the server module securely mounted to a wall.
Aspect Reporter is serious about security. All data is encrypted and transmitted securely. The tablets store no data.
Aspect reporter in MALAWI
In Malawi, HIV Viral Load and Early Infant Diagnosis (EID) data are delivered automatically from central laboratories to rural clinics throughout the country. At the lab, the Abbott m2000 is the key instrument for performing the tests. These devices are connected to the Aspect network and deliver test results and patient demographics to a secure in-country server.
Back at the referring clinic, the Aspect Reporter downloads these results and presents them to the clinic staff so they can take immediate action. Results are shown using a simple interface on the rechargeable tablets that are located where the clinic staff needs them. In addition, Aspect can generate reports that show the distribution of test results, patient demographics, test volumes, and more – automatically. Through use of Aspect Reporter, the time-to-result in Malawi is limited only by sample transport speed to the central labs; the test results travel back to the clinics in real time.
