SystemOne was founded in 2013 by a team with wide-ranging backgrounds and a common focus: to leverage internet-enabled devices to create rapid and far-reaching change. Our team recognized the proliferation of signals that, if skillfully harnessed, could change human behavior and dramatically improve conditions in numerous industries and geographies.

Identifying disease in the developing world as critical area where improvements could have global health and economic impact, we started to design solutions around a new generation of medical devices, producing data (or, in our parlance, signals) that had yet to be translated into actionable and measurable solutions

  Jeff Takle, Chief Development Officer

Chris Macek, CEO

Chris was founder and CEO of Relyon Media, which has been in operation from 1998 to 2016. Relyon developed large-scale software applications for US-based government projects, universities and the World Bank. Chris has been a software developer since the early 1980s, when he learned to develop applications on Radio Shack’s TRS-80 computer. In the 1990s, Chris started to see how large-scale database-driven applications often required data analysts to interpret their results and help businesses understand who needed to do what, based on data. He has brought graceful user experiences to applications ranging from the World Bank’s E&S Toolkit to SystemOne’s Aspect software. Chris earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Middlebury College, and his Master’s degree in Education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He also enjoys time in the wilderness, in meditation, and at BurningMan.
Jeff traveled worldwide as a Captain in the U.S. Marines and a CIA intelligence officer, where he earned a reputation for being able to rapidly build technology solutions out of whatever was on hand. He has been innovating since his time in the military, and his career has ranged from founding and building his own real-estate-focused SaaS firm profiled in the New York Times, WSJ and others, to co-authoring the turnaround of a financial services company, to leading a corporate innovation fund within Abt Associates, a $1b development consulting firm.. Jeff currently maintains relationships across the globe with leaders in NGOs, governments, ministries of health and regional medical systems. Jeff has degrees in business (MBA, Babson), strategic intelligence (MS, National Intelligence University), more business (BS, Boston U), and international relations (BA, Boston U). He lives in Bolton, MA with his wife, two sons, and dog. He plays with his family, volunteers, breaks his 3d printer, and lives very much in the moment.
