SystemOne Announces Logistics and Device Management for GxAlert®

National-scale rollouts show increased case detection and reduced costs with GeneXpert® and other diagnostic devices

Cape Town, South Africa - December 2, 2015 -- SystemOne, a connected health company developing data-driven healthcare solutions, today announced at the 46th Union World Conference on Lung Health that its ground-breaking real-time data reporting system, GxAlert®, offers a more robust suite of tools to increase the benefits of connected diagnostics. GxAlert leverages data produced by medical diagnostic devices, including devices that perform genetic, blood, and immunoassay lab tests, as well as point-of-care devices. GxAlert has been primarily installed in labs using GeneXpert® devices, where real-time diagnostic information, cartridge inventory management and warranty compliance are critical issues.

In addition to the existing robust dashboards offering clinical and operational information, GxAlert’s new capabilities include:

Inventory management - enabling health systems to avoid cartridge expiration and forecast location-specific needs:

  • Watch consumption and utilization

  • Forecast stockouts

  • Find excess stock

  • Move cartridges and verify inventory transit

  • Avoid cartridge expiration and forecast location-specific needs.

Device management - enabling health systems to:

  • See maintenance and calibration status in real time

  • Understand device utilization and whether you have enough GeneXperts or need more to cover your disease burden

  • Avoid costly warranty expirations caused by failure to calibrate in time

  • Actively initiate calibration and maintenance requests through your MOH team

“GxAlert takes the notion of real-time clinical response and fleet management to a new level,” said Chris Macek, CEO, SystemOne. “We are trying to marry the medical device’s operational data with its surrounding clinical environment, and the very specific stakeholders that need to take action on the data. GxAlert is helping ensure that the whole health system benefits from connected diagnostics from patient, to lab tech, to supply chain manager, and more.”

“Like many modern medical devices, the GeneXpert produces data that can help users understand how their machines are functioning, how well their users are trained, and what diagnoses are occurring in real time,” said Jeff Takle, CEO, Global Connectivity Solutions. “We’ve been deeply impressed by SystemOne’s GxAlert team, and how they brought a conceptual understanding of getting the right signals to the right people at the right time to life through a simple, user-friendly software. They keep iterating to get it right for the end user and that is unlocking a lot of value.”

SystemOne’s GxAlert has been adopted by diagnostic laboratories in 25 countries for devices focused on multiple diseases, including Malaria, HIV, TB and Ebola.

About SystemOne:

Founded in Massachusetts in 2012, SystemOne focuses on producing game-changing data-based solutions for connected devices.  The company’s first target has been TB,  a treatable disease that infects 8 million people per year and kills 2 million.
