SystemOne Completes Mobility Pack Prototype:Furthers Work with USAID on Zika and Future Threats
Springfield, MA and Johannesburg, South Africa (October 27, 2017) -- SystemOne, a disease intelligence company focused on rapid detection and response to infectious diseases, completed a prototype for the AspectTM Mobility Pack, a diagnostic connectivity solution designed to further the goals of the USAID Grand Challenge for Zika and Future Threats. The $30 million Challenge calls upon the global innovator community to generate cutting-edge approaches to fight Zika and to help strengthen the world’s ability to prevent, detect, and respond to future infectious disease outbreaks.
SystemOne networking and software solutions rapidly and securely deliver data from infectious disease diagnostic devices. The company is uniquely positioned to create a mobile solution that can offer instant connectivity to point-of-care diagnostics being deployed in an outbreak.
The Aspect Mobility Pack comprises of an integrated computer and communications system capable of cellular communication on a global network. The system includes a rechargeable battery capable of transmitting hundreds of results on a charge. The system’s communication protocols ensure that results can move rapidly from diagnostic devices to central servers and databases. The Pack relies on the SystemOne Aspect platform to disseminate critical diagnostic data to the right people at the right time.
“The Mobility Pack is a natural extension of the Aspect platform,” said Aaron Oppenheimer, VP of Product Design, SystemOne.“As an increasing number of point-of-care diagnostic devices are deployed, their effectiveness depends in part on their ability to communicate results directly to the health system and to health emergency command centers.”
